ABSTRACT

The mechanism of generation of vortex tubes in the boundary layer of a viscous gas at the emergence of turbulence is considered. A vector wave equation is obtained that describes the generation mechanism of vortex tubes. It is shown that the generation of vortex tubes is possible only at certain ratios between the pulsation components of the velocity in the incoming flow. Generation of vortex tubes is analyzed for various transition scenarios. It is noted that at different stages of the transition to describe physical processes, it is necessary to use different equations.
